The BotIn Experience

Botín Madrid"A fascinating insight into centuries of history. The food is prepared to perfection."  InMadrid

"Thank you so much for a marvellous day – the tour was very informative and the food just amazing as was the service.  We will be highly recommending this to all our friends."
Ann & Todd Russell

Botin in Madrid is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest working restaurant in the world. It was founded by Frenchman Jean Botín in 1725 and has been in the González family for four generations. The restaurant has been visited by famous people from all over the world; writers, royalty, politicians and Hollywood stars.

“We lunched upstairs at Botín´s. It is one of the best restaurants in the world. We had roast young suckling pig and drank rioja alta. Brett did not eat much. She never ate much. I ate a very big meal and drank three bottles of rioja alta.” The Sun Also Rises, Ernest Hemingway

Insider’s Madrid is proud to work exclusively with the González family to bring you The Botin Experience. We take you behind closed doors on a guided tour of the Botin Restaurant, its history and its anecdotes.

Following the tour, we will serve you a variety of dishes, The Classics of Botín*, including the house speciality, suckling pig, cooked in the original ovens dating back to 1725. Delicious alternatives are served to our vegetarian guests. When it is time for you to leave, we also have a small gift to take away to keep as a reminder of your time with us.
