Madrid and her Artisans

A walk through the center to meet the artisans of Madrid

Our route takes us through the smaller streets to visit artisans at work;  Spain’s legendary cape makers  - Picasso is buried in the cape he was given from this shop. A luthier’s workshop to learn the about the craftsmanship of the flamenco and the classical Spanish guitars, a leather artisan teaches us some basic techniques in his workshop and we take a walk around the Las Austrias neighbourhood, home to artisans past and present.

Flamenco Uncovered

Going behind the scenes with professional flamenco dancer and guitarist followed by dinner and show

We gather in the intimate setting of a flamenco club with a professional dancer and guitarist. They share their world with us and explain the roots, history and the intuition of Spain’s best-known art form. What makes this flamenco performance so spontaneous? What is the unspoken language between the performers? Does the spirit of flamenco, the duende, really exist? These and many other questions are answered before the doors open to the public. We enjoy a delicious pre-show dinner before a truly moving and passionate performance with two guitarists, two singers, and four dancers. Olé!
