Situated in the medieval Austrias area of Madrid, Botin restaurant was founded by Frenchman Jean Botín in 1725 and has been in the González family for four generations. The restaurant has been visited by people all over the world from royalty, politicians, writers and Hollywood stars.

Insider’s Madrid is proud to work exclusively with the González family to bring you The Botin Experience; a guided tour of the restaurant, its history, its art and its anecdotes. Following the tour, we will serve you a variety of dishes, The Classics of Botín*, including the house specialty, suckling pig, cooked in the original ovens dating back to 1725. Delicious alternatives are served to our vegetarian guests. When it’s time for you to leave, we also have a gift for you to take away to keep as a reminder of your time with us at Botín.

  • Price: €75 (vat included) per person.
  • Available: Every day.
  • Meeting Place: Outside of the restaurant, Calle Cuchilleros 17.
  • Schedule: At 12.15 midday or at 7pm.
  • Duration: 45 minute tour followed by lunch or dinner

By booking a tour or activity with Insider’s Madrid, you agree to the terms and conditions stated in the Terms and Conditions part of this section.

For more information or to book a tour, please send us your booking request or write to us at and we’ll contact you as soon as possible. If you would like to go ahead with your booking, we will send you a paypal request for your tour payment or an invoice payable via bank transfer. If the payment is made via bank transfer, any bank charges or commissions must be paid by the client.

In these conditions “the Company” means Insider’s Madrid who acts as the tour organizer and an agent for all carriers and services.
The Company cannot be held responsible for expenses outside the tour itinerary, or liable for weather conditions, acts of God, natural disasters, strikes, terrorism, injury, property loss and/or damage or other events beyond control.
The Company is not liable for personal injury or property damage due to occurrences, negligence, or omissions caused by tour suppliers such as but not limited to: establishments frequented, hotels, product producers, restaurants or transportation companies.
The Company reserves the right to adjust the itinerary if necessary and substitute services of an equitable or better quality if required. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Company reserves the right to cancel a tour at any time before departure and supply participants with a full refund. This does not include additional expenses such as but not limited to: passport fees and non-refundable airline tickets.

Insider’s Madrid strongly recommends travel insurance as protection against risks, including cancellation charges, loss or damage to personal property, medical expenses, personal accident or death, personal liability, loss of money and/or Travellers Cheques.

All tours and activities require prepayment. You will be charged in full for all selected tours and activities at the time of booking. You can always cancel or change the date of an activity. Any cancelation or change in date may be subject to a processing fee outlined below.
Prepayment does not apply to the Botin Experience or the reservation of the Flamenco show. For these activities, we ask guests to advise us or any change to their booking 24 hours before the reserved date.

To request a change or cancellation, please send an email to including the original booking date, the name of the person who made the reservation, the name of the activity chosen and the date you reserved for, along with the payment method you used to book the tour.
There will be no refund for activities cancelled within less than 48 hours before the start or for no shows. If cancelled between seven and two days before the start of the activity there is a cancellation fee. A full refund is issued if a tour or service is cancelled more than seven days before the activity.
The cancellation fee is 15% of the total price. Costs arising from refunds made via bank transfer will be paid for by the client. Date changes are free of charge, as long as you advise us at least 48 hours before the start of the activity by email or by phone. Only one change per reservation is allowed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the company reserves the right to cancel a tour or activity at any time before the start, and supply participants with a full refund of the amount paid. This does not include additional expenses such as but not limited to: non-refundable airline tickets. We will inform the customer as soon as possible. In the case of any other change in the activity: date, time, location, etc., we will proceed in the same way. All the appropriate refunds shall be made as long as they adhere to the conditions stipulated in our cancellation policy. There will be no refund for any partially unused services by the client decision. Prices include VAT and any other liable taxes at the time of the booking.
Please note that these conditions apply to our private and small group tours that feature on our website. Separate terms and conditions are sent to clients requesting medium and large group activities such as those suggested via our MICE page

Personal data provided is incorporated into a file under INSIDER’S MADRID SL responsibility with the sole aim of responding to your request. You may exercise your right to access, correct, cancel and oppose this by writing (attaching a copy of your identification) to us at Mañuela Malasaña 21 5b, Madrid E-28004.
